European Solidarity Corps – Full-Time
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is the European Union initiative which creates opportunities for young people to volunteer in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe.
Projects can last from as little as two months and a maximum of 12 months. Volunteers are provided with support, subsistence levels of funding and basic training.
You can register for the ESC when you are 17 years old, but you cannot start a project until you are 18. European Solidarity Corps projects are available for people up to the age of 30 years old.
YMCA Bournemouth is currently looking for volunteers who are either British (for short term opportunities) or European with UK pre-settlement status (for long term opportunities). If this is you then please get in touch to see which vacancies are open firstname.lastname@example.org
If you do not fall into these categories, there are plenty of other opportunities for you to choose from on the ESC website.
Volunteering – Part-Time
YMCA Bournemouth are hugely grateful for the contribution made by volunteers across the organisation.
There are numerous ways in which you can support us with your time, whether it’s volunteering for one-off tasks or taking regular volunteering duties with our youth, family and relationships, building services, marketing, sports and leisure, supported housing or chaplaincy departments.
People choose to volunteer for a number of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community. For others it allows them to develop new skills or build on existing experience to benefit their careers.
Whatever the motivation, volunteering with YMCA Bournemouth is both challenging and hugely rewarding. Why not give it a try? You will be made very welcome.

“Working with children and young people helped me discover not only how amazing it is to be around them by playing, interacting and socializing, but helped me discover myself; what I can do, what I enjoy doing and what I would like to do in the future”.
