We offer two first aid courses, one lasting a single day and the other lasting three days. The one-day course is aimed at individuals and small companies looking to increase their first aid competence. The three-day course is specifically aimed at providing companies, either large or small, with a designated first-aider.
Emergency First Aid at Work – One Day
Course Contents
This course runs for six hours and thirty minutes, between 09:30 – 16:30 and can serve a maximum of 8-12 people.
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Resuscitation and AED awareness
- Burns
- Assessment of the situation
- Anatomy
- Choking
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Minor injuries
- Epilepsy
- Basic hygiene in First Aid
- Bleeding control
- Shock
Prerequisites
This qualification is available to those over 16 years. No previous first aid knowledge is required, although it is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level one literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
About the Qualification
A Level Three Qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This national award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Re-qualification is necessary after three years.
Learning Outcomes
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide their organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. The individual will have successfully learnt the course content which is designed to meet current UK legislation.

- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Heart attacks

- Control of bleeding
- Head injuries
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning
- Chest injuries
- Sprains and strains
- Burns
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Strokes
