Student First Aid Training

The Student First Aid course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid treatment confidently and safely. The course is suitable for students aged 11 years and over and fulfils the requirements of the Department for Education in respect of statutory first aid training

Course Duration:

3 hours including educational, theoretical and practical teaching.

Course Contents:

A range of subjects will be covered including:-

• What is First Aid?
• Burns and scalds
• Primary survey
• Safe use of an AED
• Resuscitation
• Recovery position
• Choking
• Head injuries
• Wounds and bleeding
• Common injuries

Assessment:

• The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and written assessment and a learner must pass both assessments to be awarded the qualification.  There is no grading of the assessment, learners pass or are referred.
• Qualification valid for 3-years

Each student receives:

• Student First Aid books
• Level 2 qualification certificate (subject to assessment)
