About the position:
We are looking for a Buildings Security Night Officer to join our team and contribute to the security of YMCA premises consisting of hostel rooms, self-contained flatlets, off-site accommodation, plus public and office areas. As part of the role, you will work within the Housing department, ensuring the security of YMCA premises and service users on a rota during the night hours (22:00 – 07:00).
This role will involve:
- To liaise with day staff at the start and end of any shift
- To monitor CCTV images as required
- To know and carry out correct procedures regarding resident rules, health and safety, COSHH, fire and first aid
- To handle emergency situations in relation to buildings in an appropriate manner and ensure these are recorded in a serious incident form
- To rapidly attend any part of the building to address an incident or provide assistance to a colleague as required

- Experience of working independently in a position of responsibility (essential)
- SIA qualifications, COSHH courses, health and safety, health and social care courses, mental health courses, customer care (desirable)

Additional information:
- The role has a statutory, occupational requirement to ensure the safety and welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk that they may come across using our services. The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk as a priority and follow both YMCA Bournemouth safeguarding policy and BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership and Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership statutory guidance.
- Employment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work checks and a Disclosure and Barring Service check. If the role involves regulated activity with children or adults at risk, your employment will be subject to an Enhanced level DBS check prior to commencement date. All other applicable roles will be subject to a Basic level DBS check prior to commencement date.
