Partnership Opportunities
We offer a variety of ways for schools and colleges to get involved with our mission. While we’ve collaborated in many ways in the past, our current focus includes:
6th Form & College Sleep Easy’s
Students can take part in their very own Sleep Easy event, where they experience a night sleeping rough to raise awareness of homelessness and funds for YMCA Bournemouth. Learn More About Sleep Easy Events.

Other Opportunities
There’s plenty of scope for collaboration between educational institutions and YMCA Bournemouth.
These include:
- Selecting YMCA Bournemouth as your ‘Charity of the Year’
- Organising volunteering opportunities for students
- Conducting joint projects to address social issues like homelessness
We are here to support you with ideas, materials, and guidance every step of the way.
Thank You and Publicity
At YMCA Bournemouth, we believe in celebrating the support we receive from schools and colleges. Unless specifically requested otherwise, we share stories of these partnerships to:
- Raise awareness about homelessness
- Inspire other institutions to get involved
This is our way of saying a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all our supporters.

6th Form & Colleges Sleep Easys
We have been absolutely delighted by, and hugely grateful for, the engagement and support we’ve received from local schools in the cause of combatting homelessness. This video shows how and why they held events on our behalf. They have been amazing.
“The children at St Luke’s wanted to show love and empathy for those who are homeless by fundraising around World Homeless Day. The YMCA have given them a safe and meaningful way of doing this. Following a thought-provoking worship, the children are now aware of the complex issues surrounding homelessness. They trust that the money they raise will go towards giving a homeless person someone to listen and understand that person’s unique situation.``
Mark Saxby, Headmaster, St Luke's Primary School
“I am very grateful to YMCA Bournemouth for inspiring our young people to take part in this very worthwhile exercise. They will never forget it.``
Andrew Mead, Headmaster, Lytchett Minster School
“It’s a cause that the students feel strongly about and they’re not quite sure how best to help. And the Sleep Easy gave them a practical way of doing that: raising funds, raising awareness, showing that they care. One night for us is nothing compared to those who have to face this day in, day out.”
