Mental Health Awareness Course

Course Contents

This introductory four hour course raises awareness of mental health.  You will gain:

• An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
• An introduction to looking after their own mental health and maintaining well-being
• Confidence to offer support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

About the Course

• This is a half day course delivered face-to-face
• Limited numbers per course so that the instructor can keep people safe/supported while they learn

Learning Outcomes

All candidates receive the following:

• Certificate of attendance
• Manual to refer to whenever needed
• Work including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health
• Mental Health Awareness badge

Locations

• The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre, Station Approach, Broadstone BH18 8AX

Attendees should remember to bring one form of photographic ID e.g. passport, driving licence, or two forms of non-photographic ID e.g. birth certificate, utility bill.

Assessment

There is a short multiple choice questionnaire to pass this course.
